How It All Began
The idea for Cryptoys came to CEO and co-founder Will Weinraub through the sound of a shriek: “Dad! Dad! Come quick, I found the ultra-rare,” yelled his daughter as she tore open her gazillionth surprise pack toy.
Seeing her excitement, inspiration hit: Will thought, “What if we brought the same tried-and-true toy model to NFTs and made collectibles even better — provably rare and highly interactive?” Will pitched the idea to Emilio Cueto (Chief Technical Officer) and Alfonso Martinez (Chief Experience Officer), and together they rounded out the co-founding team with Jhonathan Torres (Chief Operating Officer) and artistic all-star Freddy Oropeza (Chief Creative Officer).
Freddy brought 3D, Pixar-level quality animation to Cryptoys and introduced the possibility for truly dynamic collectibles, replete with customizable design, personality, and skills. Through his expertise, OnChain will be the first to take NFTs to the next level — evolving them from static pictures and looped videos and making them adorable, three-dimensional characters that move and live on the blockchain.
With OnChain, NFTs will simply be the underlying technology. The focus will always be on delivering community value and entertainment, such as the ability to play with Cryptoys in an ever-expanding online arcade. We are creating digital toys — interactive, playable, and subject to a degree of ownership only made possible through Web3 innovation.
Cryptoyverse: Your Digital Toy Box
The Cryptoys Genesis Collection (Alphie the Corgi, Comet the Kitty, and Juno the Panda) are the heart and soul of the Cryptoyverse, but they aren’t the only playable NFTs that will grace the ecosystem. This world of play will be a digital toybox for collectors; open your backpack, and voila — any character in your collection is ready to be taken for a spin.
So far, OnChain Studios has announced its first IP-related partner: Mattel, the billion-dollar global toy titan behind Hot Wheels, Barbie, Fisher-Price, and so many other industry-leading multi-generational brands. Of all the many fan favorites, Masters of the Universe will be the first property to enter into the Cryptoyverse.
