Content + demand hot tip 🔥 People aren't consuming your content for information—they're doing it for the end result. And this mentality can up your content + demand game. Hear me out 👇 When you buy something, it's because you hope it'll solve a problem you have, right? So, you start doing your own research—you Google, read review sites, ask colleagues & peeps in your network, follow influencers on social media, look at pics online, read blogs, etc 👀 [Basically, you're doing research the way customers do nowadays 😉] You end up with a lot of info, but that info isn't why you started consuming content in the first place 🤨 You consumed it to better understand the transformations you see/hear others have thanks to the solution you're looking for 👏 Thus, when you end up buying a solution, you're buying it for the end result—the change it's going to make in your life. It follows that, as a content and/or demand gen pro, you need to do 3 things if you want someone to consume your content and buy your solution based on this end result [change]👇 1️⃣ Acknowledge your customer's current problem/position/situation 2️⃣ Acknowledge your customer's desired position/situation 3️⃣ Show your customer how you can take them from 1 to 2 In other words, show your customer that you GET IT 👏 ❌ This doesn't mean pushing people into a demo ❌ This doesn't mean making every CTA a sales push ❌ This doesn't mean shoving gated content down people's throats ✅ It means putting yourself in your customer's shoes ✅ It means taking an empathetic approach to your content ✅ It means providing as much free value upfront as you can ✅ It means giving a s**t about your customer versus just a bottom line And yes, I know us demand gen folks have to care about the bottom line 🙃 But you know how to get to that bottom line? By helping customers understand how you're going to change their life for the better ✌️ And you can start with the helpful content you're offering 🙏 #demandgeneration #contentmarketingtips #contentmarketingstrategy

Great post, Jacalyn. This aligns with the concept of think of content as if it’s a product. Products should support transformation from a current state to a better state. Content should, too.

Love this! And I'd add to #3 - I try to edit (and write) to show the customer how they can take themselves from 1 to 2, with the help of "me." They have the power, they're the hero. We're just hero to offer help.

Loved it❤️ Jacalyn Beales. When you are offering genuine solution then a simple closure line does the magic that a fully packed CTA can't. 👍
