When I first joined Andy's team at Q2, I was amazed at the quality of work I was joining. Andy had built a test automation solution from the ground up. He used resources like SpecFlow to make tests human-readable and Boa Constrictor, the .NET Screenplay Pattern (an open source project that he created) which is a crucial part our test implementation. He set up Selenium Grid so we could run thousands of automated tests in parallel daily. Andy also advocated for BDD practices like 3 Amigos, Example Mapping and Shifting Left. As a result, there is a lot more collaboration between developers, business, and test. I am grateful that I get to work with code that is understandable, well-structured and scalable. Over the past year, I have seen Andy design and implement so many things into our solution to help us scale to greater heights. Andy is a great mentor. His leadership, technical skills and experience in software engineering, QA, test automation, computer science, and math are all top notch. Andy is passionate about everything he does. I don't know how many times he came up with a good idea and dug in, coding late into the night or all weekend to transform his ideas into implementation.
