Is your content decaying? Content decay is a term that describes an ongoing decline in organic traffic and rankings for one or more blog posts. The use of the word ‘decay’ is an important detail because it is describing the way the decline happens. It is not a sudden drop. It is a slow and gradual decline that can go unnoticed for long periods of time, resulting in compounding losses. To better understand this, we can look at the stages of the content life cycle. - Early traction - Growth - Peak - Decay And part of what makes this challenging is that there are different causes of content decay, like: - Content age/freshness - Internal competition - External competition - Search intent shift - Lack of topical depth There's a lot more to unpack in terms of how to identify content decay and how to fix it, which we cover in detail in this post. If you work for a SaaS company and think that your performance may be suffering from content decay, DM me or reach out to Ten Speed and we'd be happy to take a look for you. #seo #content #contentdecay

Best measures to be taken if content starts decaying: - Have a look at the blog and decide if it goes with current search intent - Update the details and blog according to the latest information - Check if the links that are on the page are working or broken I guess mainly these three steps would do more than enough!
