Google, Sony, Others Sued Over Wi-Fi Messaging, Emoji Tech (1)

Mobile phones made by Google Inc., Sony Mobile Communications (USA) Inc., and five other companies include Wi-Fi messaging features that infringe patents owned by Zipit Wireless Inc., according to a complaint filed in Delaware federal court.

Phones including Google’s Pixel and Sony’s Xperia series infringe the patents by including Wi-Fi messaging capabilities as well as the ability to send emojis and other graphical symbols in the messages, the Thursday complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware said.
