In hopes of guiding their 2023-25 strategic direction, Greater Sudbury Police Service have launched two online polls seeking the public’s direction.
“This is an important part of our strategic planning process, which takes place every three years,” police services board chair Al Sizer said in a media release.
“We are committed to discovering different and innovative ways to better serve the community, our Members and to ensure that Greater Sudbury is a safe place to live and work”
The poll is being administered through Oraclepoll Research Ltd., which is seeking feedback from the broader community, including the business community, to help narrow in on strategic priorities for the coming business cycle.
“As we transition from the current to upcoming Strategic Direction, we will continue to build on our successes while using technology, innovation and leveraging community partnerships to better serve our community,” Chief Paul Pedersen said in a media release.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety, security and wellness of Greater Sudbury with an emphasis on the effective and efficient deployment of resources.”
With police moving forward with an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, they’d specifically like to hear comments and concerns of diverse communities and people with lived experiences.
The online surveys opened to the public on Aug. 11 and will remain available until Sept. 9. The business survey can be accessed at https://ca1se.voxco.com/S2/55/GSPSBUS2022/, while the resident survey can be accessed at https://ca1se.voxco.com/S2/55/GSPSRES2022/.
Oraclepoll will also be conducting randomized phone surveys, and a series of community consultations will be hosted in the near future. Dates and times will be advertised in the near future.
