New Italian Seafood Restaurant to Open in Towles Court
Alta Marea, an Italian seafood restaurant, will open in the former Lavanda space.

A new restaurant, Alta Marea, is scheduled to open sometime within the next few weeks in the former Lavanda space in downtown's Towles Court artist colony, at 1938 Adams Lane.
Lavanda closed in January 2016 after 15 years in business; according to a Facebook post by its owners, Heidi and Dino Basaric, the new restaurant is owned by a young Italian couple. The food will also be Italian, with a focus on seafood. A "coming soon" sign on the door promises that the restaurant will also display artwork by local artist Jeremy Smith, who shared a peek inside the newly updated space last month.
