// hello //
This week, we've got some sweet summer vibes, and some day trips worth making. I'm pretty excited about a new gallery opening in Greenville's Arts District. The area has undoubtedly grown in recent years, but that doesn't always mean new art. This time it does.
For First Friday, I've got a couple of picks you'll definitely want to check out. The music section is like this week, but the one track I'm sharing is one you're going to want to put on repeat.
I am super thankful to those of you who have been giving feedback. Would absolutely love to hear more. Go ahead and reply to this email, and be sure to subscribe if you got this from a friend.
Cheers, Jennifer

Loving these landscape quilts from this Anderson artist. So many summer vibes. She shows IRL at the Anderson Arts Center.

Works on Paper | Joel Wilkinson ART (@wilkinsonartgallery) • Instagram photos and videos
You're only going to find out via email what's going on at this downtown gallery of works. Lucky for you, you clearly don't mind email. Artist Freda Sue pictured. Call ahead 864-235-4483 Tuesday-Saturday. Greenville.
Vision & Spirit |African American Art Works From The Bank Of America Collection
Okay, THIS is how you do a virtual exhibit. Too many museums and galleries are just throwing up hi-res images and calling it an exhibit, but the Gantt Center's feels more like walking through a museum with one of those hand-held tour guides, offering much appreciated context.
Still, I'd go in person if you can. Highlights include works by photographers Dawoud Bey and Roy DeCarva, and frame-free canvases by master Sam Gilliam. Through August 1. Charlotte.

"Hopeful" |Curtis Harding
Here's one good track that I promise will make your day better. "Hopeful" will leave you feeling just that. It sweeps from blues to psychedelic rock to orchestral melody. Curtis hails from Atlanta.

They've nabbed a spot in the Village Arts District, in a big white house on Smith Street that's seen a host of creatives come and go over the years. The opening show features Ana Carolina Meza (pictured) and Katharine Miele. July 2. Greenville.

Darkness and decay aren't necessarily bad things if you're a photographer. These are themes upon which Danner likes to linger. See her pop up at The Artistry Workshop and Gallery. July 2. Greenville.
