I am a proactive STEM ambassador, delivering STEM themed sessions to schools around the North East of England.

Spent 5 days in the Brecon Beacons doing conservation work with the national trust to help preserve the mountains and hills in the area between March and April 2016. I then undertook the same volunteering residential again from March to April 2017.

I am one of two chosen Lead Peer Mentors for the physics department. I oversee the 17 peer mentors, who are senior students that help and guide the first year students as they settle in. I organise welcome events, as well as conducting regular checks on the mentors throughout the academic year.

I volunteered in a village called Dwabor in southern Ghana with the Sabre Trust for 3 weeks. We rebuilt the school's playground, repainted and redecorated all of the schools buildings and rebuilt the furniture. In addition, we also supplied the students with mosquito nets, and held public talks on teenage pregnancy and health.

I am one of 5 leaders of the Lloyds 250th Anniversary Project being run at the University of Bath. We are working with Mentoring Plus, a charity local to the university whose mission is to inspire disadvantaged young people by giving them a personal mentor, who acts as a positive role model and guide. Our project hopes to boost the work of the charity by giving the young people access to information and experience of Higher Education that they wouldn't have otherwise.

I helped to marshall 5km, 10km and 21km races for Relish Races based in Bath. This involved directing runners, setting up the circuits, distributing food and medals, and collecting results.

At the University of Bath, I volunteer with both the Raise And Give (RAG) and V-Team volunteering groups. This has led to me volunteering as a marshall on 10km runs, packing bags at waitrose, selling fireworks tickets for the rotary club and running other sponsored events.

I volunteered with the Royal British Legion twice during my first semester of university. I fund-raised for the charity in the city of Bath by selling poppies, as well as doing bucket collecting at a Bath FC football match later in the month.

I am the Physics with Astrophysics Academic Representative for 1st year students at thee University of Bath. I attend regular meetings and discussions with members of university staff, the students union and other academic representatives. I work alongside these people to collect the views of my peers and to then use them to improve the university experience for as many students as possible across the university.

After taking part in the Challenge programme run by the NCS in 2013, I volunteered on the programme for 1 week, helping to organise activities for the young people, and establishing connections between them and charities in their local communities.
