Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, UAE industrial partnership meeting to kick off Sunday

AMMAN — The third meeting of the Higher Committee of the "Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development", involving Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, is scheduled to commence in Amman on Sunday.

The meeting is set to cover the latest developments and industrial projects agreed upon by member states. 

Member states will also consider adopting the recommendations and report of the Partnership’s Executive Committee, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meetings of the Higher Committee will be chaired by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Minister of Labour Youssef Shamali; with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber; Egyptian Minister of Industry and Commerce Ahmed Samir Saleh; Bahraini Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhroo.

Member states are cooperating to achieve qualitative growth in the industrial sector of the four countries through resource and industry integration, leveraging each country's competitive advantages through concerted efforts and collective action to lower costs, secure supply chains, create more jobs, contribute to economic development, promote self-sufficiency and eventually promote growth and industrial competitiveness.

The meetings of the Higher Committee will also see the signing of agreements between industrial companies in various sectors after their adoption as a first phase, which will be followed by new projects with investments, estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars. 

The Executive Committee will continue to consider new projects in the targeted sectors to enhance this partnership and empower the industrial sector in all four countries, increase the industrial sector's contribution to GDP, support supply chains, reduce costs and create new jobs.
