“It’s been my distinct honour and pleasure to have served in my capacity as the chair and the vice-chair of this board for four years.”

Knox, a former detachment commander with the Ontario Provincial Police in South Porcupine turned business owner, joined the TPS board as a citizen appointee in 2018.

He served as vice-chair during the first two years on the board before being elected board chair.

While he said it has been a pleasure working alongside his fellow board members, “I am especially proud to have served the women and men of the Timmins Police Service as the board chair. Your commitment to professionalism and dedicated service to the citizens of Timmins, often under trying circumstances, has been exemplary.”

He expressed his thanks to John Gauthier, who was the police chief when Knox joined the board, as well as the current chief, Daniel Foy for their “wisdom, insight and guidance over the years.”
