Following product launch, Matroid announces $10 Million Series A co-led by NEA and Intel Capital.

Matroid Inc, pioneers in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, today announces $10 Million Series A, bringing total funding to $13.5 million dollars, following a $3.5M seed round from NEA. Founded by Stanford University faculty, the company launched its first Computer Vision product on March 25th. Since launch, the product has gained customers in the TV, media, security, and semiconductor industries. The Matroid product provides a studio allowing users to monitor streams of video data in the cloud and on edge devices.

Regarding the raise, CEO Reza Zadeh said “We founded Matroid knowing we’d have to invent entirely new user interfaces to marry Machine Learning and Computer Vision, leading to the creation and education of new markets. With this new round, we look forward to working with Intel to push the boundaries of what is possible in video analysis on a wide range of computing chips both in the cloud and on edge.”
