Burrana‘s RISE in-seat USB power solution is now part of the Airbus line-fit catalog for the A320neo family of aircraft. Inclusion in the buyer furnished equipment (BFE) catalog allows airlines or lessors to select the solution and have them installed on the factory line rather than after the aircraft is delivered.
We are proud to reach this milestone and offer Airbus customers with an advanced technology alternative for in-seat power that supports the needs of passenger devices into the future.
– David Pook, VP Customer Experience, Burrana
The BFE catalog inclusion follows on the company’s announcement from June 2022 that it would technically be offerable on the Airbus platform. That did not, however, include the catalog listing. Inclusion in the catalog eases the process for airlines to select the RISE solution and have it included in the aircraft deliveries.
Burrana also notes it secured commitments from two airlines covering 170 aircraft for the RISE solution to be installed on new A320neo planes. This includes the first customer, LATAM, already flying with the kit on board.
Burrana claims its solution is the lightest on the market, at just 200g per seat. It can provide 15W USB-A or 60W USB-C from the same seat box, allowing a smooth upgrade path for airlines.
Gaining access to the catalog is a mark of approval from Airbus, indicating the aircraft supplier trusts the components will be delivered on time should an airline select them for installation.
