Can’t Cook Pasta Al Dente? Barilla Now Has Spotify Playlists That’ll Help

Italian pasta brand Barilla, via Publicis Italy, has come up with a foolproof way to cook pasta perfectly, with several Spotify playlists that help time cooking correctly.

Barilla has created eight playlists, ranging in lengths that depend on the pasta you’re cooking, which combine music with the likes of linguine, spaghetti, penne, and fusilli.

“The secret for cooking pasta to perfection? The right cooking time,” Publicis Italy writes of its campaign. “Playlist Timer is a series of playlists whose durations correspond to the cooking time of Barilla’s most loved pasta shapes.

“An actual kitchen timer on Spotify which turns the waiting into a chance to listen to good music, entertain yourself and discover the covers of the playlists, illustrated by eight Italian artists of international calibre.”

Listeners can choose from Mixtape Spaghetti, Boom Bap Fusilli, Pleasant Melancholy Penne, and Moody Day Linguine—with each playlist combining hits from pop, hip-hop, indie and past decades.

International artists like Jay-Z, Shaun Mendes, and goldies The Beach Boys and The Smiths, as well as tracks by popular Italian artists, feature on the playlists.

According to Ad Age, the playlists will be updated cyclically to include new hits.
