As Forbes just reported, Daz 3D is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Sinespace, a free-to-play online virtual world! For the first time ever, gamers can “try on” Daz 3D characters and accessories, customize them, use them as avatars to play games and socialize with other Sinesplace players -- and, of course, take and share great screenshots in hundreds of wildly varied locations. Our Sinespace shop is now live here with a special 30% discount for the holidays!

Sinespace is a massively multi-creator social world platform for everybody — from gamers who want to play, socialize, and create, to independent developers and organizations. Sinespace hopes to build the virtual world of the future, with unparalleled graphics and the ultimate goal of accessibility for everyone.

Developers at Sinespace have carefully converted Daz 3D models to optimize our high poly count models for use in Sinespace’s multiplayer game space and allow Daz Originals to be used as standard Sinespace avatars (watch video below). Soon, more than Daz Originals may be featured in Sinespace’s store.

Like Daz Studio, Sinespace is totally free to use and gives players a method to develop and share their own content while simultaneously offering developers a safe platform for selling content to players.  Also like Daz 3D, playing and creating in Sinespace is intuitive and fun, as tens of thousands of monthly Sinespace users attest to.

Daz 3D is particularly excited to partner with the Sinespace community because Sinespace takes serious efforts to protect the IP rights of individual creators. It’s a rare Virtual World where players and users can have confidence that they are buying official works from hardworking, creative artists.

I've seen 3 to 4 of these type of thing start and the all die out after a few year, because it so hard to make stuff for your world. I do like they give you a prebuilt place to work with to get you started I'm just downloading the UTube tutorials so we shall see ?

my hope would be daz take it as a inspiration to try to maybe start to also look to "game market" like reallusion did and many others and started to make things more "game friendly" not just go insane in the poly count because they still focusing only in render, would be really good see daz trying to also go more in the other 3d market which also can be really big for daz if they really proper pay attention.

    i aways gonna say daz does have a really great potential to be a great source for game dev, the only thing holding it are daz themselfs and they pas artists, in the day they stop to hold and keep things at check and pay attention to that side of the 3d then i can see it getting a great improviment, but only if daz really want otherwise they will keep only being looked for few indies dev like me, because it's lack a lot of optmization and support for use outside daz;

What happened to Morph3D? That was announced with much fanfare, too, a couple years ago. Is it dead now? Did  it evolve into something else?

Just spend some more time in it and If I can ever get the controls to work for locomotion, then I'll see you in there, but right now I have no way to turn and teleport only works to my right. I do like the environment. saw a couple of large toucans flying around the visitor center and the size scared me at first, thought they were vultures, LOL

I have no desire to use this on desktop, so if I can't get the VR aspect working I guess I am SOL.

  • Yes I haven't tried the VR yet will try later !

They closed the Morph3D shop, stopped maintaining the tools, and released the code under LGPL https://github.com/mcs-sdk/mcs

Basically the models of selling DAZ assets directly in the Unity Store was abandoned, maybe because of not enough sales. They weren't particularly cheap to out compete other models on offer either but certainly were cheaper than DAZ 3D new offerings most of the time.

They changed their name to Tafi and now create customizable avatars meant to be used with online games that accept that avatar format.

The game content market is extremely competitive today.. We Will see if this fares any better than Morph3D/Oasis/tafi et Al.

so the point is to sell stuff and make money?  change your avatar by buying stuff and walk around? I don;t get it really.

it's a social app like VRChat, Altspace, WaveEX, etc. In virtual worlds, users like to customize their experience with new environments, objects, even their avatar. Those than don't create, purchase these thingss from those that do like DAZ or other thrid party creators. In SecondLife, which this looks to be modeled a bit on users had virtual shops to sell the customizations, problem is much of what they were selling was copyrighted material they had no right to sell. In addition the Linden Labs EULA stated that everything that was uploaded to be used in SecondLife was basicially their property now which is wht DAZ didn't allow their content to be used in SL.

thanks. maybe when i get me VR headset I'll go back. I installed but uninstalled the program. I started with Alphaworld whenever that was, and was on 2nd Life for awhile until it turned into a mall.

So basically another Second Life. And my guess is, that's where Synespace originates in the first place. Company name and logo remind me strongly of a vendor of MoCap dances in Second Life. One of the few who actually did make MoCap animations, rather than making dance animations and slapping the word MoCap in front..

Let's say, I just consider downloading for now.

Yes it is a couple of the same people you remember form SL plus some. If you check out our top management team http://sinewaveentertainment.com/management/ you may find someone else you remember. Many on the team are from virtual environments.  We have also recently brought on a new addition to the management  https://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/355278/Al_King_Game_Industry_Marketing_Legend_Joins_Sinespace.php

Because we are using the Unity3D game engine our platform can bring to DAZ creators a number of things. One important feature is you can bring your creations to life and create an interactive world around them for you to enjoy or sell for others to enjoy.

Your content protection is extremely important to us. https://wiki.sine.space/index.php?title=Content_Protection

We are still building out the the platform and just had the 3rd anniversary of our open pre-release/beta.  Our VR is under redevelopment with an incredible team and has more improvements coming. We are dedicated to look to our community for feedback, testing and feature requests.

Please join our discord to chat with our creator community, support and staff are there too of course. Our vision going forward is a very exciting one.   https://discord.gg/8hEryu

We are looking forward to working with everyone. Please feel free any time to email me directly. I am looking forward to also discuss the possibilities available for selling all your creations within sinespace.
