New name, same focus on “innovation and future-proof solutions for customers.” That’s the message from Anuvu, the rebranded Global Eagle as it continues to transition under new ownership. A play on “a new view,” the new branding delivers fresh visual identity highlight the innovative and new perspectives delivered to mobility markets.
This is more than a name change; our new brand and fresh visual identity highlight the innovative perspective we deliver to the mobility markets we serve. We continue to invest in technology that meets our customers’ performance and value requirements today, while providing a future roadmap with curated content, cloud-based content operations, and multi-platform broadband satellite networks.
– Anuvu CEO Josh Marks
The rebranding is the latest step in the company’s recent transformation. As part of its bankruptcy exit the company sold off business units unrelated to its mobility content and connectivity core focus.
It also restructured the leadership roles. Per Noren departed the company in March with the elimination of the President role. This was followed by promotion of Mike Pigott to EVP Connectivity spanning aviation, maritime, energy and government. Nancy Walker joined the company as SVP Commercial, IFC; she most recently worked at SmartSky prior to the new position. Anuvu also promoted Estabaliz Asiain to SVP Commercial, IFE.
With these new leaders in place the company is ready to focus on the innovation necessary to boost its performance within the content and connectivity verticals. This includes a transition to the Iris platform for content, subscription pricing and DIY management of media assets for airlines and cruise operators to load on board.
On the satellite internet front the company continues to expand its capacity. It recently secured the full capacity of another Ku-band GEO satellite. Anuvu also continues its work with Telesat to ensure compatibility with that company’s planned LEO constellation, expected to launch in the coming years.
