Rooming House expo
Rooming house residents can be some of the most ignored members of the renter community, in mainstream service provision, not to mention in sustainability education. With the support and involvement of women's housing Inc and a grant from the city of Yarra we ran the first green renting expo for rooming house residents. Rooming house residents can be some of the most ignored members of the renter community, in mainstream service provision, not to mention in sustainability education. With the support and involvement of women's housing Inc and a grant from the city of Yarra we ran the first green renting expo for rooming house residents. The program for the day contained several speakers and workshops covering topics from healthy meal planning to container gardening and ethical shopping. The day attracted residents as well as service providers from around the country.
My role - I helped organise and coordinate several of the speakers and sessions on the day, I helped manage the projects budget and created, any of the promotional flyers and posters.

Their existing website had been in existence for nearly six years and the company felt it was time to create a new, more flexible website to serve their two separate Australian and New Zealand branches as well as to allow for future feature expansion into responsive design and ecommerce features for warranty and extras retail. The site was built in Drupal 7 with Domain Access to handle the different territory sites and some custom code to handle the businesses peculiar product catalogue.
My role - I was involved in initial scoping discussions with the client, assessing their needs and requirements. I wireframed the project and created a technical specification for our development team. During development I managed task allocation, testing and liaising with the client to inform them when features were ready for testing, talking them through training and handling bug reports to pass back to our team.Other creatorsSee project -
Melbourne Mobile
- Present
I first became interested in cross platform mobile development tools when working on the app version of the Australian veg food guide. Discovering phone gap and realising it's potential I wanted to be one of the first in Australia to start uncovering and discussing such tools, so created the Melbourne mobile meet up. In our first year we had talks on phonegap, appcelerator titanium, kendo ui, jquery mobile and more. As we start our second year, we have nearly 200 members and have gained two new…

University of Melbourne's School of Psychology
Melbourne University's school of psychology were keen to revamp their website from a static HTML site into something that allowed all alumni and staff to create and edit their own content, maintain complex profiles and encourage greater exposure to the work happening in the school. The site was created in Drupal 7 and utilises many modules with some custom code to allow for fairly complex content creation workflow.

International Student challenge
Green Renters identified a large group of temporary renters who lived in the City of Melbourne who had generally not been targeted for sustainability education. Realising that many international students in the city are looking for social opportunities and that often creating games around education can be a successful model we created a series of challenges for students to participate in and learn about sustainability in the city.
