Inflight internet service is coming to the flynas fleet later this year. The Saudi Arabia-based low cost carrier signed an MoU this week with stc (the Saudi Telecom Company) and SkyFive Arabia to fit its fleet with an air-to-ground network.
The agreement, signed Wednesday at the LEAP conference in Riyadh, aims to have the service active before the end of the year.
SkyFive Arabia has previously worked with stc and Saudia to deploy a test network in the country, bringing connectivity on a narrow flight corridor between Riyadh and Jeddah. With the new deal secured stc will take the lead on deploying the network more broadly across the country, while flynas, rather than Saudia, will take the lead on deploying the services on its aircraft.
