Because you forgot to click 'Start streaming' in Console.app

Don’t feel bad about it - it happens to everyone.
Even if you click Start streaming, it’ll only show you log entries from then on, and nothing from before.
To see earlier logs, Apple recommends creating an entire system diagnostics report and open specific files created by it. What a mess.

Do yourself a favor and use BackLog. I know I am. That’s why I wrote it.

P.S.: The app works better than its icon looks, I promise.

Because you want to make it easier for your customers to send you diagnostic info

Have you ever had to instruct another human being on how to use Console.app, filter for specific stuff, what to look out for, etc, and then find out that it didn’t produce any results?
I know, it sucks.

Why not just do the heavy lifting for them by specifying the criteria you need, copying the backlog:// link, and sending it to them?
All they need is the app and to open the link, the rest is done for them – and you.

Because the hard work should come after, not *be* getting the logs.

Because now, you can.

Please feel free to peruse and check out my other apps, like
Yoink, Transloader or ScreenFloat. I’d appreciate it.
