Welcome to AltConf Berlin 2019

AltConf is a community-driven event, assembled to serve developers and a product driven community. Held at Kino in der Kulturbrauerei, AltConf Berlin 2019 will take place on Monday June 3rd, 2019.

AltConf Berlin is a one day event, featuring community led talks throughout the day. It will finish with Apple's WWDC keynote at 7pm, streamed live from San Jose! Doors for the full day conference will open at 9am.

250 tickets will be up for grabs for the day conference, priced at €60. Capacity increases to 450 for the keynote, with these tickets free of charge for everyone.

Code of Conduct

AltConf cannot happen unless everyone is safe and welcome. If anything happens to make you feel unsafe or unwelcome, let us know, and we will fix it.

AltConf is organized by volunteers as a service to the community. We care about what the community cares about, so we actively work to increase diversity at our conference and in our industry by providing a stage for under-represented people and ideas around Apple's platforms.

Social interaction is hard, and conferences bring so many different types of people together. We have as much to learn from each other as from the speakers. If we want to bring people together and help them understand each other, everyone must be safe and welcome.

To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, and volunteers are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code before and throughout the event.

In Short

AltConf is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Longer Version

Harassment includes, but is not limited to: verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Exhibitors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, exhibitors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff, including volunteers, should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, event organizers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.

Reporting Harassment

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact one of the organizers immediately either in person, or by sending email to safety@altconf.com

We have a Safety Response Team available at all times during the conference. We will have phone numbers available to reach the team directly for urgent issues.

If you’re currently afraid of your physical safety or are in danger, call local law enforcement (Emergency - Fire, Medical, Police):

San Jose: 911

London: 999

Paris: 112

Berlin: 112

Madrid: 112

The staff is well informed on how to deal with the incident and how to further proceed with the situation. Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
