Sneak Peek at 2021 Volume 3: Xamarin.Forms

Syncfusion offers the largest selection of controls for Xamarin.Forms, featuring the popular Charts, DataGrid controls, and unique file-format libraries for manipulating Excel, Word, PDF, and PowerPoint files.

Currently, we are working on the third major release of 2021. You can expect the 2021 Volume 3 release in the last week of September. In this blog, we will look at the new features we plan to make available for Xamarin.Forms platform in this release.

PDF Viewer

The Xamarin.Forms PDF Viewer will gain the following useful features in the 2021 Volume 3 release.

Form field events

This feature will notify the user when the form fields are focused, unfocused, or edited on a PDF page.

Customize each stroke

This feature will provide support to change all the properties of each ink stroke.

Rich Text Editor

Word wrap

The Xamarin.Forms Rich Text Editor will now support the word-wrap facility. This will automatically transfer a word from the end of one line of text to the beginning of the next line in scenarios where space is constrained.

Diagram

The Xamarin.Forms Diagram will have these new colorful features.

Stencil objects with annotation

Users can load stencil objects with annotations.

Boundary constraints

You can restrict the users from moving the diagram objects beyond the given boundaries.

Masked Entry

Spell checking and text prediction

The Xamarin.Forms Masked Entry will support spell checking, text prediction, and automatic text correction of input text.

Text Input Layout

Different color customization

The Xamarin.Forms Text Input Layout will provide support to apply separate text colors for the helper label, hint label, and counter label.

Autocomplete and ComboBox

Select all on Focus

With this 2021 Volume 3 release, you can enable or disable selecting all text in the editor while the Xamarin.Forms Autocomplete and ComboBox controls are in focus.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading! I hope you are eagerly awaiting these new features in the upcoming 2021 Volume 3 release. These are, however, just the highlights. There will be many other new features for Xamarin.Forms in the 2021 Volume 3 release. You can check them out once the release is rolled out. It won’t be long!
