What are the best ways for a software tester to build a relationship with a user experience designer?
The completion of the design phase often presents an overlooked opportunity for collaboration between designers and testers. At this stage, designers usually have detailed wireframes and workflows that they can share. Testers can use these design documents to prepare automated tests ahead of development, based on the expected user interface and workflows. Testers can also use the design documents to recommend to developers where to add IDs and other selectors for UI elements, or even establish naming conventions for these elements. By agreeing on these selectors in advance, developers can work faster and test engineers can rely on these selectors to reliably locate UI elements in their automated tests.
