Local Frank Lloyd Wright event sells out early

You might (or might not) know his name, but you've definitely seen his architecture: Frank Lloyd Wright. The 'prairie' architect died in 1959, but nearly 60 years later, Wright and his homes are still well known!

The man known for his high, narrow windows, sharp wood edges, and pale brick structures designed several buildings in Ohio and Michigan (which are linked at the side of this article). Unfortunately, many are closed to the public or are outside of Toledo's day-trip range.

Now the Allen Memorial Art Museum is allowing architecture and design buffs into the Weltzheimer/Johnson House in Oberlin, just a short drive from Toledo. Nearly 10,000 reported being 'interested' in the open house, which is the problem. The Museum's big April 8th event is now sold out, as of late Wednesday morning. The Museum says there are additional open houses. These will be held on the first Sunday of each month, through November, according to the Museum's Facebook posts.

The Weltzheimer/Johnson House is the second closest FLW building to Toledo, after the Palmer Home in Ann Arbor. You can rent out that Ann Arbor home, on VRBO.
