There are 22 awards in total up for grabs in 2023, celebrating all aspects of our amazing industry. The nominations will open soon to give all applicable companies the chance to enter.
We typically have a huge number of nominations for our awards. All eligible entries are put forward for the next phase of the process, during which a core judging team of media and independent professionals create a shortlist from the submitted games, services, and companies, to be voted on by 100 selected industry representatives.
NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2023 AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN
There are a total of 22 awards – including new entries for 2023 – up for grabs celebrating all aspects of our amazing industry and it couldn’t be easier to submit your entry for contention.
Simply select the award from the list below and fill in the form, including a short explanation of why the entry should be considered (links to images and videos can be added).
Please note that unless specified otherwise in the awards description, the period for consideration covers January 1 to December 31, 2022. Only games, services, company performance released or achieved within that timeframe are eligible for the awards.
Following the nomination phase we’ll present the finalists. For the first time ever, the voting phase will open to all members of the industry – more on this when we get there.
Meanwhile, the Pocket Gamer People’s Choice award is voted on by players at:

This is the only award nominated by and voted for by consumers, and recognises the best new game to have received a full release during the previous year. The People’s Choice Award runs both its submission and voting phases through PocketGamer.com, with the winner revealed on the night of the ceremony.
The People’s Choice Award will be shortlisted by the expert journalists at Pocket Gamer and voted for directly by the games playing public on www.pocketgamer.com

This accolade is for companies that support the ecosystem through the enabling of user acquisition or monetisation via advertising, and that are helping games and developers in this fast-moving business to grow their audience.
(The period for consideration covers the whole of 2022.)
Best Advertising & UA Service
Any company that assists developers and publishers in developing their games and running marketing campaigns through analytics tools and/or providing data on market performance.
(The period for consideration covers the whole of 2022.)
Best Analytics / Data Tool
Any mobile games company with 11 or more staff that has released a game, or successfully grown an existing game, during 2022, as well as expanded their business and made an impact on the industry through innovation, creativity and other initiatives.
Best Developer
This award recognises the companies that are supporting live games on the market through back-end services to ensure game servers run smoothly and help developers implement both special and crucial online features.

Best GAAS Tools & Tech
This accolade is for any game pushing the boundaries of the medium through audio and/or visual accomplishments. To be eligible for this award, games must have been given a full release (or received a significant and noteworthy expansion) during 2022.
Best Audio / Visual Accomplishment
This award is open to third-party tech companies that provide game engines or game creation platforms that are instrumental in enabling or powering mobile games development.
(The period for consideration covers the whole of 2022.)
Best Game Engine / Platform
This award recognises games that show stellar writing and narrative design. To be eligible for this award, games must have been given a full release during 2022 or, for titles released before this date, have received significant new content in the last year.
Best Storytelling
This special award recognises a person from any corner of the globe who has demonstrated a considerable amount of success, influence, and impact despite their relatively recent arrival within the mobile games industry.
A new addition since 2020, this is the first year this award is open for submissions (it was previously selected directly by the organisation committee of the Mobile Games Awards).
Rising Star
This award is open to any company providing dedicated tools for developers that assist in the creation of games for mobile platforms. (This does not include game engines – please see separate relevant category.)

Best Tools Provider
This award is for any third-party service provider or outsourcer that supports developers in making games, whether through art, audio, trailers, UX, payment provision or other services.
(The period for consideration covers the whole of 2022.)
Best Service Provider
This award recognises the impact of significant updates, in-game events or excellent community management during 2022 for games released previously, that have helped take a game to the next level and sustain a title’s life.
Best Live Ops
This accolade awards companies that have supported mobile games during 2022 in the areas of quality assurance and localisation, ensuring that both new releases and updates go live with as few hiccups as possible, and are localised appropriately for target markets.
Best QA & Localisation Service Provider
This accolade recognises the achievements of a small team of developers that have released a game, or successfully grown an existing game, during 2022.
Best Indie Developer
This award recognises the best third-party PR agency or internal marketing team that has created campaigns fuelling the growth of games during 2022. This can be through any medium, including online, TV or other.
Best PR / Marketing Team
As mobile continues its expansion into new markets and Google Play and Apple App Store open up a little, third-party app stores become ever more important part of the industry. This award celebrates the other portals that have done the most to grow during 2022.
Best Alternative App Store
A recent addition to our roster, this award showcases an investment within the mobile games industry that has played a vital role in the success and growth of a company during 2022.
Investment Fund of the Year
Celebrating a company that has supported another developer in releasing a game on mobile devices during 2022, whether through publishing support, marketing, co-development or investment.
Best Publisher
“Alexa, which company over the last year has consistently delivered the most impressive set of AI-assisted tools for mobile game creation?”
Most Promising AI Games Tech
New for 2023, this award recognises the company that has played the most active role in paving the road for the next World Wide Web.
Most Impactful Web3 Company
This award recognises the finest mobile gaming experience released last year based on creativity, play mechanics, technological, artistic and aural achievement, innovation, audience engagement, and both critical and commercial success. To be eligible for this award, games must have been given a full release during 2022.
Game of the Year
This illustrious lifetime achievement award recognises a person from any mobile gaming territory who has achieved a considerable amount of success in their career and has acted as a pioneer in, and made an outstanding contribution to, the mobile games space.
The Mobile Legend is a special award, selected directly by the organisation committee of the Mobile Games Awards.

Lobbying for the 23 categories of the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2020 has now ended – our thanks to the huge number of industry members who nominated.
The shortlist will now be determined and subsequently presented to a judging panel made up of more than 100 industry experts for voting.
The finalists will be announced in December, with the winners revealed at a gala dinner event in central London on Tuesday, January 21st.
