In Sneaky Sasquatch, swiping sausages, dodging rangers, and getting in a few rounds of golf is a pretty normal day.
But what happens when our hairy hero heads into the city?
You’ll find out in “The Town,” a huge new update to this Apple Arcade gem. We turned to Jesse Ringrose, cofounder of indie gaming studio RAC7, for the inside scoop on Sasquatch’s new adventure.
“Sasquatch has to act like a real human now,” Ringrose says. “He can open up bank accounts and even rent an apartment. It's a completely different game!”
Different is putting it mildly. We’ve seen Sasquatch fool campers, tourists, and even his driving instructor with little more than a cap and T-shirt combo. But how does he fit in when he’s got a desk job downtown? And will anyone notice the shaggy locks and...outdoorsy...odor?
“That’s the big gag!” admits Ringrose. “And he’s obviously very hairy. There’s no shaving or grooming mechanics in the game yet, but that’s definitely something we want to look into.”
As a city slicker, Sasquatch dives right in to climbing the corporate ladder, starting in the mailroom and going up from there. Grab coffee for your coworkers, or provide a little tech support.
“Sasquatch is very interested in it because it’s human stuff,” Ringrose says. One tip for this new world order: Be a good citizen. Though you can still steal the occasional item, ransacking stores immediately alerts the police.
As with Sneaky Sasquatch’s woodsy home, how you experience The Town is up to you. Hang out at a cafe or diner. Play some games in the local arcade. There’s no right or wrong way to be a Sasquatch.
“People can generate small stories for themselves,” Ringrose says. “There’s so much to do without us telling you what to do and focusing on an objective. It’s really living your best Sasquatch life!”
