Action News loves when you send us story ideas! We had a woman reach out about her mother who lives in a Richland retirement home and tell us the creative way her mom has been passing the time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

87-year-old Barbara Triplett has been stuck in her retirement home for almost a year because of COVID-19. She and her friends inside have been feeling bored and lonely so Triplett decided to start a newsletter, with a lot of laughs and not a lot of news.

"It's not really a newsletter because it's just a bunch of dumb stuff," Triplett laughed. "It's a way for people to remember when they were kids and it's called Assault and Flattery. They seem to laugh a lot so it probably gives them something to do, there is nothing to do here anymore."

Barbara has been doing the newsletter for the last two weeks. She writes it up and copies are made for other residents. She says she misses her kids and friends and looks forward to the world getting better soon.
