NFL Rookies: PFF grades and snap counts for all 32 teams

• Seattle Seahawks leaning on the rookie class: No team got more out of their rookie class, with Seattle's rookies combining for 5,074 snaps over the regular season.

• A mammoth campaign from Zion Johnson: Johnson led the 2022 draft class in snaps played, finishing the regular season with 1,184. He finished the year with a 64.8 PFF grade, 32nd among qualifying guards.

• Sauce Gardner‘s incredible rookie season: Gardner played 1,114 snaps and finished the regular season as PFF's top-graded cornerback and Defensive Rookie of the Year.

With the NFL regular season in the books and the playoffs now well underway, PFF takes a look back at the contributions each team got from the 2022 rookie class, breaking down PFF grades, snap counts and more.

Arizona Cardinals

Tight end Trey McBride led Cardinals rookies with 599 offensive snaps this season, thrust into a bigger role when Arizona lost Zach Ertz midseason. McBride was one of nine rookie tight ends to log at least 300 offensive snaps, and among them, he finished eighth with a 50.9 overall grade. The second-round pick ranked last among 34 tight ends (who saw at least 40 targets) by averaging just 0.83 yards per route run, and his 46.3 run-blocking grade ranked 39th out of 45 tight ends who were on the field for at least 200 run plays.

On the offensive side of the ball, Arizona called on guard Lecitus Smith (44.8 grade) for a three-game stretch midseason. On defense, the Cardinals saw contributions from edge defender Myjai Sanders (53.5), edge defender Cameron Thomas (69.9) and cornerback Christian Matthew (55.7), with all three logging more than 200 defensive snaps as rookies.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta was home to standout rookie performances on offense from eighth overall pick Drake London (83.2 grade) and 151st overall pick Tyler Allgeier (86.7) while also trotting out quarterback Desmond Ridder (55.9) at the end of the season to boost an offense that became stagnant under Marcus Mariota.

On the defensive side, edge defender Arnold Ebiketie (64.5), interior defender Timmy Horne (47.4) and edge defender Deangelo Malone (57.5), linebacker Troy Andersen (40.2) and cornerback Dee Alford (64.8) recorded playing time throughout the year. Of the six rookie running backs who carried the ball at least 100 times this season, Allgeier led them all with an 88.0 rushing grade (earning a spot on PFF's All-Rookie team). He was one of the more efficient backs in the NFL this season, ranking fifth among those with at least 100 carries by converting 24.8% of his attempts into either a first down or a touchdown.

Baltimore Ravens

Center Tyler Linderbaum (74.7 grade) played 1,092 snaps and tight end Isaiah Likely (66.4) saw 412 snaps to lead the offensive rookies this season. On defense, safety Kyle Hamilton (82.3), interior defender Travis Jones (62.5) and cornerback Damarion Williams (43.9) combined for just less than 1,100 snaps. Out of 34 centers who logged at least 500 snaps this season, Linderbaum, a Ravens first-round pick, ranked sixth in offensive grade, while Hamilton, another first-round pick, ranked fourth out of the 74 safeties who logged at least 500 snaps this season.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills' rookies recorded the fifth-fewest snaps among first-year classes this season, with first-round pick Kaiir Elam (56.7 grade) leading the way with 477 defensive snaps. Buffalo's at-times depleted secondary also led to 363 snaps from Christian Benford (55.7) throughout the year.

On the offensive side of the ball, Buffalo got contributions from both wide receiver Khalil Shakir (62.3) and running back James Cook (79.0). Out of 49 running backs this season who saw at least 90 carries, Cook ranked 18th with an 81.3 rushing grade. He also placed fourth among that group by converting 26.1% of his rushing attempts into either a first down or a touchdown.

Carolina Panthers

With 1,018 snaps, tackle Ikem Ekwonu (65.3 grade) — the 6th overall pick — logged 71% of Carolina's rookie snaps in 2022. Interior defender Marquan McCall (56.8) tallied 185 snaps, and then no other Panther rookie saw the field for more than 79 offensive or defensive plays.

Ekwonu started every game for Carolina at left tackle, and of the 31 players who played at least 500 snaps at left tackle this season, he ranked 23rd in overall grade. It was a bit of a roller-coaster season for the first-round pick, who finished with five 70.0-plus game grades (including a 90.5 mark in Week 5 against San Francisco) but also earned three sub-50.0 game grades.

Chicago Bears

The Bears finished the 2022 regular season with the third-most offensive and defensive snaps from rookies, with tackle Braxton Jones (75.4 grade) leading the way with 1,033 snaps at left tackle. Jones was one of 15 players to line up at the left tackle position at least 1,000 times this season, and among that group, he ranked sixth in overall grade.

Safety Jaquan Brisker (67.8), cornerback Kyler Gordon (49.9) and cornerback Jaylon Jones (48.5) combined for 2,283 snaps in the secondary, and edge defender Dominique Robinson (45.9) along with linebacker Jack Sanborn (64.5) also saw consistent snaps for Chicago's defense.
