For the past two years, Stoke, in partnership with the City of Denton, has facilitated a shark-tank style pitch competition where Denton-based entrepreneurs can pitch for the chance to win cash for their business.

Hey Denton Entrepreneur, Pitch for Cash!

Stoke, in partnership with the City of Denton, has facilitated a shark-tank style pitch competition during Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Denton Pitch Competition Details

Apply your business and receive pitch coaching and the chance to win $5k, $3k, or $2k at the Denton Pitch Competition. Ten applicants will be selected to pitch for cash prizes.

Residency

  • You must be a Denton-based business or business owner/entrepreneur to apply. 

  • Businesses must be the type that can or are approved to operate within the City of Denton.

  • Businesses should be for profit.

Benefits

  • Fifteen applicants will be invited to a free pitch coaching development program to help business owners prepare pitch decks and pitches for competition day. 

  • Ten applicants will have the opportunity to pitch for real cash for their business goals.

  • All applicants will have exposure to the highly engaged entrepreneurship and business networks within the City of Denton, Denton Business Allies, and Stoke Coworking communities.

Award Requirements

  • Awards must fund a business-related goal/expense. 

  • Winners will submit a progress update for the business-related goal/expense at 3 and 6 months post-competition. 

  • Pitch competition winners are invited to present outcomes at Stoke's Flint Conf in Spring 2024.

In The Press

Stoke, in partnership with the city of Denton, will invite 10 Denton-based entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative business ideas in a “Shark Tank-style” competition on Nov. 16. Finalists will pitch in front of a panel of judges and attendees for one of three cash prizes.
