A holiday to celebrate email? Yes! It's about time! April 23 will be the very first #EmailDay, and I don't remember being so excited about something in the four+ years I've been with ZeroBounce.net. Why are we starting Email Day? Why April 23? How are we celebrating? I'll post a link in the comments where you can find all the answers. 👇 Want to spread the news? I worked for hours on a pitch and hit Send. ... Only to get a vacation reply. What do you think will happen when the journalist gets back to work on Monday? 1. She will mark all emails as read. 2. She'll delete all unread emails. 3. She'll just leave them unread and embrace inbox chaos. . . #PRlife #publicrelations #mediarelations #PRpros

💡 #QuickPRTips: Entrepreneurs, when a journalist interviews you, try not to do a “PR interview.” Give them something real instead. Think of authentic ways – like using your own stories – to get your messages across. Let your guard down for a second. They’ll appreciate you for that. . . . #publicrelations #mediarelations #entrepreneur

💡 #QuickPRTips: Journalists don’t work for PR people. They work for their employer and – most importantly – for their audience. So when you pitch, you’re pitching the reader. How much will they care about your story? . . #prpros #mediacoverage #mediarelations #publicrelations

The best article I've read on the Google and Yahoo update. And it features my friend Emily Ryan 👩🏻💻 and the brilliant Chad S. White!
Google and Yahoo are trying a new tactic in their bid to declutter users’ overflowing inboxes: Holding bulk email senders more responsible for spam. For the first time they're stipulating that bulk email senders to authenticate their own email addresses, include code with their emails that lets recipients unsubscribe with one click, and keep their spam complaint rate below an average of one per 1,000 emails. Think that means you'll see less marketing emails in your inbox? Think again. Marketers LOVE email as a channel, and looking for the silver lining in this crackdown. What they're hoping for: A reduction in *actual* spam, enough, so their emails cut through better; and an end to the behavior we're all guilty of—marketing emails we said we wouldn't mind receiving as spam, because we can't be bothered to find the "unsubscribe" link in the email. If you send emails, you need to know this: 👌 47% of people open a brand email because that brand always sends them good emails. 💡 40% of them check email looking for brand discounts. 🙅♂️ 78% will mark an email as spam if the email “looks like spam.” The ZeroBounce Email Statistics Report for 2024 is out — and we gathered so much useful data for you! A big thanks to everyone who took the survey. I appreciate you.
