Coun. Curry welcomes chance to serve on police board again

Ottawa city councillors are set to find out which committees they will be sitting on when council members meet on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Kanata North Coun. Cathy Curry, who sat on the Ottawa Police Services Board (OPSB) during the previous term of council, told Wake Up With Rob Snow on Dec. 6 that she would gladly sit on the OPSB again.

“Given how much it takes to understand police services and the act and all the by-laws and I think there's a value of me staying because I would be some what up to speed,” she said. “This is an opportunity to make things better and there are some challenges for sure and I would happy to be part of making things better.

Curry noted that she would be happy to sit on any board and supports a motion that a member should be chair of the OPSB to avoid any politics and devote their full attention to the board.

Kanata South Coun. Allan Hubley has made it clear that he has no intention on being the chair of the City's transit commission once again.
