A help wanted sign is up at the Guelph Police Services Board.
The board is in search of a new community representative to be on the board of directors, after former chair Robert Carter resigned from the board following last November's meeting.
Officials said the desired applicant should have experience or updated knowledge of a governance board in a provincially regulated organization. They must also have experience in negotiations, financial management and analytical problem solving.
Other criteria includes a "collaborative work ethic, a commitment to policing as a pivotal community asset" and "a forward-looking approach to community safety."
Those not eligible to apply are judges, a justice of the peace, police officers and a person who practices criminal law as defense counsel.
Anyone interested is asked to apply on the police website no later than March 3.
Applications will be reviewed and interviews will be conducted if needed, before going to the police board and city council for final approval.
