Talking about the most influential events in the startup ecosystem of the Netherlands, the much celebrated Emerce eDay is back with the broader scope and greater innovations this year.
For the uninitiated, each and every year, Emerce eDay, one of the biggest Dutch business event takes place in Amsterdam focusing on the future of online media, business and marketing. This 2018, the Emerce eDay event is all set to take place in the De Kromhouthal on October 11 and we are going to tell you why is it important for you if you’re into the business of startups.
#1 Emerce eDay: Why should you attend?
eDay 2018 is one of those events that help you steer through the small stuff and gets you to where you need to be to stay ahead. Designed as a one-day programme, the attendees are provided with the latest content from global thought leaders on new business, strategies, case studies, concepts and technologies, plus access to a day with the vanguard of tomorrow’s digital world.
#2 What’s new this year?
This year, in Emerce eDay a new program is being introduced called Scale-up Café, where 25 selected scale-ups join some of the top businesses and leaders. This invite-only initiative facilitates meetings between potential partners, customers, investors, fellow entrepreneurs, coaches, advisors and much more.
#3 Scaleups participating
The participating teams include the Next Closet, OneFit, Vandebron, Dashmote, 24Sessions, Veylinx, Firmhouse, Energy Savers, EcoChain and Cryptohopper. On the other hand, partners in this event are Silicon Canals, Accenture, Vectrix and EY VODW.
#4 What new this year? Exclusively for students and Emerce readers!
In a bid to encourage students and its readers under the age of 27, Emerce eDay is organising a special occasion this year, dubbed as eDay NextGen. During eDay NextGen, the speakers will address a group of 300 people in a different location in the Amsterdam-Noord. As it will be small-scale event and will be more of an interactive session. Those interested can register via the site, and the entrance is free. Further, the attendees will also be asked to write a short motivation.
#5 eDay NextGen
On 11 October 2018, eDay Next Gen will take place during the eWeek in Amsterdam in collaboration with the partners and sponsors of the initiating university network as an Emerce eDay side event. The location for this event will be FC Hyena.
#6 Hours of inspiration and insights about voice
Emerce eDay brings together several experts like Max Amordeluso, Jeffrey Rohrs from this emerging field to brush you up. In addition to it, the music service Deezer will tell how algorithms and audio come together in a uniform music and listening experience.
Moreover, there are other companies, and sponsors, including Xebia, Avenade, Label A and Merkle who will share their own practical experiences concerning voice and conversational on eDay.
#7 Doing good is good business
A lecture by Michiel de Gooijer, a former director at Endemol, Talpa and DigitasLBi. For those who are not aware, he is one of the Netherlands’ largest international video publisher on Facebook with a range of his BrightVibes platform: 20 to 50 million per week and 200 million video views.
#8 Hyperloop on eDay
Tim Houter, co-founder of Hardt Hyperloop will share his knowledge on the Hyperloop transportation. Hardt Hyperloop picked up 1.25 million euros from investors earlier this year. With this, they want to set up their own test track in Delft.
#9 Beyond the digital domain
Andy Zondervan, CEO of RightShare wants to create a fair system for copyright in the music industry. He will be sharing his experience including the Music Meets Tech initiative.
Other speakers are David Li from the Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab, Leif Johan Holand from Griff Aviation and Pamela Pavliscak from Change Sciences.
