“To our members, please lean on and take care of each other. There are supports to if you need someone to speak with. Board members, member support and external services are available to help us through as we struggle with the loss of our brother.”
An outpouring of support from officers and police services across Ontario and Canada followed the news of the death.
MPP Neil Lumsden, minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport who represents Hamilton East-Stoney Creek at Queen’s Park, also offered his condolences.
“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the officer, as well as the entire Hamilton police community,” he wrote on X.
