Below I share the text again.

Thank you!

–––––––––––––––––

Hello All,

We're pleased to announce the *Call for Participation* for the FOSDEM 2021
*Tool The Docs* devroom.

- FOSDEM is one of the largest gatherings of Free Software contributors in
the world and happens each year in Brussels (Belgium) at the ULB Campus
Solbosch. In 2021, it will be held online on Saturday, February 6th, and
Sunday, February 7th.
- FOSDEM is free to attend. There is no registration.
- FOSDEM website: http://www.fosdem.org/
- FOSDEM code of conduct: https://fosdem.org/2021/practical/conduct/

Please forward this CFP to anyone you think may be interested in presenting
or attending.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a successful run in 2019, we are excited to announce the *Tool the
Docs developer room* at FOSDEM 2021!

The developer room focuses on *free and open source tools for writing,
managing, testing and rendering documentation*.
It will run on *Sunday 7th February* for half a day.

## New rules / What changes since last year:

- For obvious reasons, this year the event will not take place in a
physical location but online.
- The reference time will be Brussels local lime (CET).
- Talks will be pre-recorded in advance, and streamed during the event –
Before proposing a session, please make sure you will have the facilities
(camera, microphone, network) and time to prepare, upload and review a
recording during the first two weeks of January if your proposal is
accepted.
- Q/A session will be live after your talk.
- A platform will be provided for people watching to chat between
themselves.
- A platform will be provided for people watching to submit questions.
.
## Key dates:

- Submission deadline: 22nd December 2020
- Announcement of selected talks: 31st December 2020
- Devroom date: Sunday 7th February 2021 online

## Topics:

*We welcome proposals from those working with tools for documentation as
well as those creating and maintaining them*, plus any related topics you
think might fit into the room. This is a great opportunity to show new
ideas and developments to a technical audience from a wide range of free
and open source communities. *Please do keep in mind that product pitches
are not allowed at FOSDEM.*

A few examples:
- Static site generators for documentation
- Docs-as-code
- Automated processes
- Toolchains

## How to submit:

We are accepting talks of 20-30 minutes, with time for questions afterward.
The QA session will be live. If you want less or more time, please let us
know in your submission.

All submissions have to be made in the Pentabarf event planning tool:
penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM21

While creating your proposal, please provide the title of your talk, a
short abstract (one or two paragraphs), some information about yourself
(eg. name, bio, photo, contact information, but remember that your profile
might be already stored in Pentabarf).

## Getting started with Pentabarf:

1. Don’t panic!
2. To submit your talk, click on “Create Event”, then select the “Tool the
Docs” devroom as the “Track”. Otherwise, your talk can’t even be considered
for a devroom at FOSDEM!
3. If you already have a Pentabarf account from a previous year, even if
your talk was not accepted, please reuse it. Create an account if, and only
if, you don’t have one from a previous year. If you have any issues with
Pentabarf, please contact ode-devroom-manager at fosdem.org.

## Recording of Talks:

The talks in the Tool the Docs developer room will be pre-recorded.
*Speakers have to submit a recording of their talk to the devroom in
Pentabarf and be available for QA during the event.*
By participating in the event you agree to the publication of your
recordings, slides and other content provided under the same licence as all
FOSDEM content (CC-BY). In the “Submission notes” field in Pentabarf,
please indicate that you agree to the publications.
For example: “If my speech is accepted for FOSDEM, I hereby agree to the
publication of my recordings, slides and other content provided under the
same licence as all FOSDEM content (CC-BY). Sincerely, Name”.
