LinkedIn is adding a new review element to its professional services listings, which will provide another way to highlight the quality of individual professional skills. First launched in 2019, LinkedIn's Services listings enable freelancers and SMBs to list any services that they provide on their LinkedIn profile, and to be found for the same in search results. Now, as an additional complement to this, past clients and customers will also be able to leave reviews of an individual's work, which can be displayed within their listings. According to LinkedIn : "We're excited to share that you can now receive and view reviews as a service provider on LinkedIn. To see reviews you've received from past clients or to manage your reviews, simply go to your Service Page. If you haven't received any reviews on your Service Page, be sure to start growing reviews by sending out review invites." Those who've enabled Services on their LinkedIn profile will be given 20 credits to request reviews from previous clients as part of the initial launch of the feature. My thanks to my own initial five star reviewers: Nigel Youell, Simon Roebuck, James Cunningham and Shayoni Lynn - much appreciated! Let me know in the comments how you are finding the new service page review feature. #publicrelations #personalbranding https://lnkd.in/dKWQ69RW
I found it a bit clunky to implement, Andrew — for example, when you invite people to review, they DON'T actually get a review invitation. You have to go to manage the reviews, and then message the individual(s). And you have to retype their name after you've selected them to message. WTF? So, only then does a template message appear which you can amend, and then finally send. Unless you work this process out for yourself, you are going to sit forever wonder why so many people you have invited to review you are leaving you hanging in the wind. Having said that, I like it, and appreciate that you have to select a specific service that you provide to get a review for.
Hadn't spotted this one Andrew Bruce Smith, thanks for sharing! Will have to add a review too, for the work you've done for me in agency roles over the years 👏

2yWill this be a feature where the profile owner gets to approve of reviews? Or can activists 'review bomb' a company they hate for instance? How will Linkedin regulate this feature? 🤔
