I've worked in-house, agency and now as a consultant and I echo Rand Fishkin's sentiment in his latest article that, you should hire agencies & consultants (for everything you can). This doesn't mean I'm against building internal teams. In my experience, the most effective SEO strategies have been with clients where there's clear synergy between internal teams and partners. In practice this tends to look like 👇 ➡ Clients are familiar with working with agencies/consultants and it's embedded into their culture. ➡ Agency/consultant roles vs in-house roles are understood and complimentary. ie. internal SEO team has core expertise around technical SEO but require a partner for digital PR. ➡ There's a shared vision and communication is regular. External partners are most effective when they're treated as an extension of an internal team. Check out the article in the comments and let me know what you think! 💡 #SEO

3yThe utopia is when you can hire externally but they feel like a genuine extension of the internal team. It’s a rare gem - but I definitely had this with you Andrew! 😊
