NEW: Sliding Scale Rate for Supporting Memberships

The PSF has made a sliding scale rate available for Supporting Membership, because we want to increase the size and diversity of our voting membership by making it more accessible. New Supporting Members can join the PSF for as little as $25. Our goal is to make our Membership program easier to join for Supporters for whom the regular rate of $99 per year is a barrier–for example because they live in a country with lower average incomes than the US or Western Europe, they are currently students, or they are currently unemployed or under-employed. We are relying on Members to self-select their rate, so anyone who finds our suggested $99 membership rate a financial burden can choose a Membership rate that works for them, starting at $25. Read more on our Supporting Membership page or on our blog announcement.

We Need 25 New Supporting Members!

That brings us to the membership drive and fundraiser, happening right now! Our goal is to get 100 new Supporting Members (at either rate!) by the end of the year. We have just hit the 75% mark–Can you sign up today and help us meet our goal

We’re also trying to reach a financial goal of $10,000 in community donations by the end of the year, to set us up to serve the Python community the way we want to in 2023. From grants to small trainings around the globe to funding a CPython Developer in Residence, your contribution goes a long way in making impact for individuals and for the whole Python ecosystem. Any amount helps, and we are grateful for every single gift. Help us end 2022 on a bright note and give today.

Employer Matching Gifts–Double Up!

Many larger employers have a gift matching program for charitable organizations like the PSF. Your employer may already be set up! Check if they are on our list of existing matching partners, or email psf-donations@python.org if your employer has a matching program but is not set up with PSF yet. Thanks in advance for doing a little bit of admin to double your gift to us, we really appreciate it!

Congratulations 2023 Steering Council Members!

The Python Core Developers have voted in the 2023 Steering Council. The new Steering Council members are Brett Cannon, Pablo Galindo Salgado, Emily Morehouse, Gregory P. Smith, and Thomas Wouters. Congratulations to each of you, and welcome to Emily Morehouse who is joining the Steering Council for the first time. Read more in the Python Discourse announcement
