Jeff Smith has been in the technology field for over 15 years, oscillating between manager and individual contributor. He currently serves as the Manager of Production Operations at Centro and previously served as the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering at Grubhub. Jeff enjoys discussing the psychological aspect of problems in organizations. Jeff is also one of the co-founders of the Chicago Nerd Social Club. He occasionally musters up the strength to write on his All Things Dork blog.

Katie is a Sr. DevOps Engineer at Health Care Service Corporation. She leads a team of CI/CD enthusiasts and supports over 500 applications. Katie’s team builds highly automated, audit-compliant solutions that take teams from requirements to Production safer and faster. Katie lives in Forest Park, IL with a beautiful wife and two of the cutest dogs you’ll ever see.

Aaron Kalin

Aaron Kalin

Aaron Kalin is a Site Reliability Engineer who works with DNSimple to maintain their fleet of DNS servers. Aaron believes in simple, sustainable deployment and testing of software to deliver great experiences to customers and developers alike. Aaron is also a very active open source contributor and project maintainer for various projects around servers and software who has been in the industry for over 15 years.

Matt Stratton

Matt Stratton

Matt Stratton is a DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty, where he helps dev and ops teams advance the practice of their craft and become more operationally mature. He collaborates with PagerDuty customers and industry thought leaders in the broader DevOps community, and back in the day, his license plate actually said “DevOps”.

Matt has over 20 years experience in IT operations, ranging from large financial institutions such as JPMorganChase and internet firms, including Apartments.com. He is a sought-after speaker internationally, presenting at Agile, DevOps, and ITSM focused events, including ChefConf, DevOpsDays, Interop, PINK, and others worldwide. Matt is the founder and co-host of the popular Arrested DevOps podcast, as well as a global organizer of the DevOpsDays set of conferences.

He lives in the Chicagoland area and has three awesome kids - Henry, Joey, and Sophia, who he loves just a little bit more than he loves Doctor Who. He is currently on a mission to discover the best phô in the world.

Trevor Hess is a Senior Product Manager at Progress Software working on Chef Software. He currently works on the Chef Application Delivery, Compliance and Infrastructure offerings.

Coming from a background in .NET Software Development and consulting, he has worked with several large multinational organizations to help kick start their journey to the cloud and the world of DevOps practices and principals. He is excited to engage in new experiences, and learning opportunities.
