Bitly is a (free or paid) service to shorten URLs, watch link statistics, and much more. The Bitly Connect plugin provides you with a custom Twig filter to shorten URLs, directly from your templates. The only thing you need to get it working, is a Bitly API access token (get one here).

This plugin is no longer maintained.
