The SmartSky air-to-ground in-flight connectivity solution is now available from Global Aviation Technologies. The Wichita, Kansas location offers installation of the in-stock hardware on aircraft covered by existing certifications.

Global Aviation Technologies is the latest to join the growing network of SmartSky partners, facilitating deployment of the new connectivity solution. The SmartSky solution combines its on-board hardware, the nearly complete terrestrial network, and the company’s Skytelligence digital application data layer.

SmartSky continues to forecast completion of the CONUS coverage map by early Q2.
SmartSky notes that more than 4,000 aircraft are covered by the existing STC, though presumably some of those already have an alternate system on board. That number also has not shifted in the few months since the offering officially went live for aircraft.
Getting additional STCs into the portfolio will help expand the range of aircraft SmartSky can sell to. The company has previously projected optimism on that developing as more distribution and installation partners join the sales efforts.
