Police seeking convicted robber known to frequent London, Sarnia

Police are asking the public for help finding a violent offender who may be in Southwestern Ontario.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) unit is searching for Kraig Tasker, who is serving a nearly five-year sentence for multiple convictions on crimes including robbery, using an imitation firearm, assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with a probation order, Ontario Provincial Police said Saturday.

Tasker, 34, is known to frequent London, Sarnia, Hamilton and Kingston, police said.

He’s described as a white man standing five-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Tasker has several tattoos including a symbol on his left check, a large fan and soldier on the right side of his neck, a brick wall on his left hand and the letters NBK on his right hand.

The OPP’s ROPE squad is a multi-agency task force responsible for locating parolees unlawfully at large and prisoners who escape custody. It previously issued a public appeal to find Tasker in 2015.

In the previous case, Tasker was serving a 51-month sentence for aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, weapons trafficking, possessing firearms, possessing a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, and several other charges.
