Cyprus Airways plans to boost its inflight experience, adding a streaming entertainment platform on board, thanks to the AirFi wireless IFE solution. The AirFi kit will fly on Cyprus Airways’ fleet of A220 an A320 planes.
We are highly impressed by the range of functionality offered by AirFi’s intuitive wireless in-flight entertainment and in-seat ordering solutions. We needed something scalable to suit our ambitious growth plans and provide a hassle-free travel experience that serves all our guests needs. – Paul Sies, Cyprus Airways’ CEO
Each plane will fly with two AirFi boxes on board, enabling passengers to access movies, TV games, music, a moving map, and destination-based video content. This includes AirFi’s Dance24 channel, focused on electronic dance music and aiming to appeal to passengers traveling to Cyrus for its music festivals and party-focused resorts.
Moving forward, Cyprus Airways also intends to deploy the at-seat ordering module from AirFi to boost inflight sales. The AirFi shopping portal integrates with Cyprus Airways’ crew sales devices, allowing travelers to order snacks and drinks from their seat.
AirFi notes that, with activation on the Cyprus Airways A220, the company’s hardware now has been deployed on every active type in the Airbus family. AirFi CEO Job Heimerikx notes this accomplishment “proves our offering is truly versatile, and the benefits that come with it are indiscriminate of the type of airline using them.”
