TOURS OF FALLINGWATER: Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater is now open for its 2017 tour season, which is also the year of his 150th birthday anniversary.

Fallingwater, located in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, will host a variety of educational activities to commemorate Wright's legacy this year. Mill Run is about three hours from Cleveland.

"We are pleased to present a series of lectures, an exhibition in the Speyer Gallery and other activities that focus on Wright's philosophy, sources of inspiration and his remarkable contributions to domestic design in honor of the 150th anniversary of his birth," said Lynda Waggoner, vice president of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and director of Fallingwater, said in a press release.

Fallingwater, completed in 1937, was constructed over a 30-foot waterfall and reflects Wright's interest in putting people close to nature. The house is a series of cantilevered balconies and terraces made of limestone and concrete.

Fallingwater's guided house tours are offered daily - except Wednesdays - from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 3. Tours last one hour and photography is not permitted. Adult tickets are $30 and youth are $18.

Two-hour In-Depth Tours offers peeks into spaces not available on the regular tour. The number of tour participants is limited and interior photography is permitted for personal use only. Tickets are $80.

Fallingwater also books tours for Frank Lloyd Wright's Duncan House at Polymath Park, a Wright-designed prefabricated house completed in 1957 for a site in Lisle, Ill. The house was relocated to Acme, Pennsylvania, in 2007, and is located approximately 35 minutes from Fallingwater. Tickets are available at Fallingwater.org

Since opening for its first tour in 1964, Fallingwater has welcomed more than 5.5 million visitors from around the world.

BIRD BANDING: Watch how naturalists capture and band birds from a feeder from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 26 at the Rocky River Nature Center in the Cleveland Metroparks. Bird banding helps naturalists and bird enthusiasts learn more about birds' habits.

This program is free and no registration is required. The nature center is located at 2400 Valley Parkway, Rocky River.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY: If you have allergies and are planning DIY home projects for spring, be aware that there are hidden home allergens that affect indoor air quality and health. The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America shares these hidden allergen triggers in the home:

Paint: Limit exposure to harmful volatile organic compounds (VOC) that can irritate asthma and allergies. Look for paint with low VOC levels.

Insulation: Look for brands that are resistant to mold and mildew.

Filters: Regularly replace air conditioning and furnace filters so they can efficiently remove dust and other allergens from indoor air.
