ESAs are not just for regional jets. That is one of the key messages coming out of Argentina this week, as Intelsat and Aerolineas Argentinas team up to add inflight connectivity to part of the carrier’s fleet. Under the deal Intelsat will deliver internet service on 18 jets for the carrier, spread across its A330 and 737 MAX aircraft.
The aircraft will fly be equipped with the Stellar Blu Sidewinder terminal. The electronically steered antenna is one of the thinnest options on the market, rising just 7 centimeters above the top of the fuselage.
The terminal also allows for multi-orbit connectivity, via Intelsat’s geosynchronous orbit constellation and the OneWeb LEO constellation, now owned by Eutelsat.
