What value does Developer Relations bring to other teams? - Product teams receive the “gift of feedback” - Engineering is happy with extra testing and bugs submitted - Sales gets more product adoption - PR has access to cool stories - Marketing is able to reuse content - Recruiting has access to better candidates - Policy is able to collaborate with Key Opinion Formers
As a person leading the marketing team in a software company, I relay almost 100% on input from Developer Teams, because this is a source where true value is. I think that in modern b2b software sales and marketing activities, Devs are the key to success.
Unpopular opinion, but I’d fight against DevRel being QA all day long. We’re here to be bring back the voice of developers and be the voice of developers, but we should empower our engineering teams to QA their solutions for developers, not replace that.
If you had to choose one of those - which one would it be?
Nicely done!
We think of this as the developer life cycle, an endless resource for any dev dependent or dev led company. With thoughtful investment and attention, the ROI is astonishing. https://bit.ly/3YCKsn0 Great stuff.
This is so good. If I had visual resumes(maybe I should have), I would add this image as is to explain what Developer advocates do in one go.
So True
Love this!
