New ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Trailer Consumed by the Dark Side!
“The Force. It’s calling to you. Just let it in.”
Lucasfilm just released a spectacular new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” which means that tickets to the highly anticipated cinematic event are now on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold (be patient as servers are crashing)!
Lucasfilm and visionary director J.J. Abrams join forces to take you back again to a galaxy far, far away – 30 years after Return of the Jedi to be exact – as Star Wars returns to the big screen with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in U.S. theaters on December 18th, 2015!
The film stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow.
The new trailer gives us a glimpse at all of them, although we don’t see Luke (in full). I love that the trailer hits all sorts of emotional peaks and juxtaposes good vs. evil in a way we haven’t seen since the original trilogy. The visual effects work is also superb – many of the shots look like practical models rendered into VFX sequences as teased in the behind-the-scenes featurette from a few months back. I think we’re in good hands with Abrams.
What do you guys think? Tell me the score doesn’t give you goosebumps…
