APICS Reimagines Association Membership with Innovative, Customizable Approach

New program will tailor the APICS membership experience to meet individuals’ career and education goals

CHICAGO--()--Today APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain management, announced a new membership program designed to deliver a customized membership experience to meet specific member needs. The program will provide supply chain professionals with the tools and resources needed to succeed at any career stage by providing access to benefits based on career path and goals. It also actively encourages engagement with local chapters and partners.

“We’re very focused on our individual and corporate members and what they want to accomplish. The new membership program was developed with their goals in mind,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “The program addresses the needs of our members by allowing them more flexibility and we expect its implementation to both improve member recruitment and retention and strengthen the entire member experience.”

APICS now offers two membership options for professional, young professional and international members:

  • APICS CORE – This membership package is for individuals not actively pursuing an APICS credential. It includes full access to career resources (job board, careers packs and webinars), research reports, APICS Dictionary, the digital APICS magazine, and local and online networking. Member discounts are available for conferences and events, as well as all applicable products and services, with the exception of those associated with the credentials programs.
  • APICS PLUS – This membership package is for individuals actively pursuing an APICS credential. This package includes all of the benefits listed under the APICS CORE membership package, plus certification discounts on exams, courses, study materials, and courseware for APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD), and APICS Supply Chain Operations Reference Professional (SCOR-P) designations. Academic, Student, and Enterprise Professional memberships are automatically offered this program.

APICS members with a join or renewal date prior to July 2016 will continue to receive the benefits of their current membership term and will select one of the two new membership options on their next renewal date.

As the supply chain industry evolves, so too must the people who work in it and the best practices that guide it. APICS’s new membership program reflects these changes by offering customized access to professional connections, educational resources, and certifications that evolve with the changing needs of the individual, corporations, and the industry as a whole.
