A Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in the South Side neighborhood has returned to the market once again, and it comes back with another price reduction. Known as the H. Howard Hyde House, this four bedroom home on South Hoyne Avenue is one of Wright’s American System-Built Houses, an early attempt at developing affordable pre-packaged homes with high design.

The home was affordable when it was originally built, and it’s still within reach of many Chicago purchasers with its newer and lower $529,900 asking price. A Chicago Landmark, this Prairie style home first hit the market two summers ago seeking $750,000. However, over the months, the home has taken a couple of price reductions.

Unfortunately, the listing returns with some rather amateurish and low resolution images that really don’t do the home justice. The original listing images from 2015 are certainly more flattering and present much better detail. Despite the low quality photos that accompany the latest listing, the house is certainly a lovely one and its newer, lower asking price shows that the owners are serious about selling.
