To use Travel Radar you need an iBeacon. Check out our list of Supported iBeacons

Range?
The maximum distance is about 20 m. Don't bury your iBeacon too deep in your luggage to increase range and precision.

Precision?
The distance measured in meters is just an approximation considering line of sight. The actual distance will be be less than that.
