COLORLAND: Exploring Color, Envisioning the Future by The Kindcraft & Kamonn | CMDW17

As part of Chiang Mai Design Week 2017, The COLORLAND workshop and design showcase aims to inspire people to explore and activate the role of colors and materials in Chiang Mai’s everyday crafted life and envision what the future should look like. We’ll feature color-rich images, collected curiosities, and found objects from around the city arranged into three spectrums: HERITAGE COLOR, COLOR NOW, and BRIGHT FUTURE. These objects will span lifestyles, time, and context and evoke a discussion about the crafted life of the past, the present, raising questions about the future. The one-day workshop will begin with an introduction to color theory, we’ll analyze found objects, and discuss the relevance of global color trends in local context. Finally, participants of the workshop will add their future color palettes to our COLORLAND design showcase.
